Welcome To Summer Camp
The Green River Preserve is an environmental summer camp, located on a beautiful 3400 acre private wildlife preserve in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Our unique program offers a creative, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating approach to connecting children to the joy and wonder of the natural world.

For rising 2nd through 9th graders, we offer 1, 2 and 3 week co-ed programs. With morning hikes to explore the Preserve, and a wide variety of afternoon activities, campers enjoy a care-free world filled with outdoor fun, creative energy and the joys of a close knit community. Green River Preserve enrolls only 104 campers per session and offers a camper to staff ratio of 3 to 1.
For rising 9th through 12th graders, we offer Green River Expeditions, 13 to 18 day “graduate programs” in leadership development and outdoor learning and adventure. Designed for both experienced and inexperienced adventurers, these programs follow the Green River tradition of combining learning with exploration. Co-ed groups of up to twelve students and three Green River staff explore the Blue Ridge Mountains or the legendary Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Green River programs provide life-enhancing experience that nurture the heart, develop mind and character and heighten appreciation of the natural world. We inspire young minds. Please take a few minutes and watch our video to better understand the unique value of the Green River experience.
